Soccer

Grace has wanted to play soccer for the past couple of years and this year was her lucky year! She is such a little athlete with tons of speed.

Go Grace! Go! Coach played her at forward because she is the fastest one on her team. We had the strategy of kicking the ball really hard and out running her opponents. Every time she did this, she was a huge success.

Grace hustled every second she was out on the field. We loved hollering at her and cheering her on. Her parents just loved living their competitive lives through her. This girls got some serious wheels!

Grace just hated loosing! The league doesn't keep score, but everyone else does. Even when she wasn't the victor, she always smiled and was a good sport.

Grace's fan club. We could watch you hustle up and down this field all day. Go! Fight! Win!

What a guy!

Melissa: Wing has always been an awesome Dad. On his first Father's Day he received a very special gift, a baby boy! When he first saw Parker his eyes were huge with pride and his grin just about fell off his face. I knew from that time forward that Wing would dedicated himself to being a good father, provider and husband. We are so blessed to have him as our Daddy. He makes learning, playing, stories and life just plain fun! When Daddy is around life is better. Wing, thank you for being the man who I fell in love with and for raising our children with inspiration and love. I love you, Wingy. Happy Father's Day!
Grace: My dad is the best. He always cares for us and no matter what, he will love us. Fathers are so special and they help you when you need it. They are always there. My favorite thing to do with my Dad is to go on a bike ride. One time we went into 7-11 on our bikes and I saw my friend there. We said, "Hi" and then left. Some kids from school saw me too. I just said, "Cool!" My Dad is the best! Love ya, Dad! Kate: I love to go swimming with my Dad. I love to be naked with him. I love to jump on the tramp with him too. I love to go on field trips with him and I love to be his best buddy. Someday we will get married because it's my turn to marry him next. I love to drive with him at Grandmas. You are a very special Daddy!
Parker: My Daddy is my favorite pal. I love him very much because he's my dad and all of those reasons. I wish you a Happy Father's Day. I hope you enjoy playing with me cause you better play with me when you gets back. Happy Father's Day Dad. I love you!

Goooooo.... GRACE!, by Grace

Gimme a G ...   Gimme an R ...   Gimme an A ...   Gimme an C ...   Gimme an E ...
GO GRACE! I just got done taking beginning cheerleading. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to be in the class because my Mom said that I would have to cheer loud in front of people at games. That made me nervous, but I decided to do it anyway. I didn't know anyone in the class, but I made lots of friends the very first day. We did cheers and dance and fitness. It was a fun experience.

That cheer is called "Basket, Basket." That one is my favorite cheer. I like it because I played basketball before.

Give me a "f'" give me a "i" give me a "r" give me a "up." That spells fire up... clap, clap! I like that cheer too.
I learned great cheers. Now I can about do any cheer that I can think of.

Hiking With Daddy

Parker: We had to take a lot of pictures. This is the one that my dad said to do a really big smile. Reallllllllllllllllllly big! So I did as you can see. But, afterwords my Dad said that I ruined the picture because my smile was SO big that it covered the whole entire page.

On the hike, there was also these almost naked guys running. All they had on was their boxers. They were singing, "I WANT TO BE A PARAMEDIC. STICK EM WITH A NEEDLE AND ANESTHETIC." They were weird.

Grace: I love my Dad so very much and he'll always be there even when he's busy. Because I LOVE my Daddy.  On our hike, there was these tunnels that were really fun to go into. We thought we heard bats and saw some bat guano. Yucky! You can see the tunnels in the background of our smiley picture.

Kate: Bat guano is gross. And then we wented into some tunnels. Parker's friend Zachary went too. Daddy carried me all over and I roaded on him shoulders and I tooted on him shoulders too. I love my Daddy. Daddy is at home now working in the office.

Daddy Daughter Date, by Grace

Today my Dad took me on a Daddy daughter date. He got me out of school one hour early. It surprised me. We planned on going to the Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Movie for a long time. So we drove to the Fiesta on opening day. Kate came too. When we got there we ate shakes. We all got chocolate, but my Dad shared one with Kate because she really doesn't eat much. When we felt full we went to give our tickets to the lady.  She said we can't go in because we still had our shakes with us. So we drank it all and walked up to the movie. We got in and we were the only ones there, but one other person came in so then there was two people. The movie started. Music music music... there were a lot of songs. Kate danced a lot. Then we got home. I had a fun time. My Dad is cool because he takes me on dates. It makes me feel special. I love my Dad.

A Blast From The Past: Cootie Catcher

Do you remember making these when you were a kid? Last night Grace googled how to make a fortune teller/cootie catcher and she found this video. We each made about three different sizes of these and now Grace and Parker are the most popular kids in school. In fact, Grace has 15 orders from her classmates. Needless to say... She's getting a bit tired!

Enjoy.....

Do We Want A Boy Or A Girl? Survey Says...

The new baby is healthy, growing at the correct rate, has all of it's body parts... and is extremely wiggly! The kids laughed when the baby kept giving the technician problems because it was so squirmy. Very cute to see it's personality already blooming.

We interviewed each child before the ultrasound was preformed. Here's their responses, desires and reactions...

BEFORE:

Parker: "Yes. I think it will be a boy. Definitely a boy. I also want a boy. I want it to be a boy so I'll have a friend to play video games with."

Grace: "I want a girl. I think it will be a girl, but I want a boy. Wait a minute. I don't know! I don't care which one. But having a girl would be nice because she would be a girl."

Kate: "I really want a dirl (girl). A dirl can play with my toys."

AND THE ULTRASOUND SAYS:

It's an "innie!" Definitely not an "outie." It was very obvious to the trained eye.

AFTER:

Kate: "A DIRL! I am happy!" (She also grinned and clapped her hands! When we went back to the car she cried because she thought we were leaving the baby at the Doctors office. Don't worry, Kate. She's in Mommies tummy.)

Grace: "I like that! It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl!"

Parker: "There are going to be too many girls in the house. Whew. It's going to be tough on me."

HERE'S SOME OTHER CUTE LITTLE DETAILS:

My First Baby, by Grace

This year for Mothers Day... I was a little Mother of a baby chick! I like to take care of the chick, but not clean up it's poop. Also, it is fun to play with it. Even when it follows me around like a little puppy. My chicks name was Amy and it was a boy, but my class liked to think of it as a boy and a girl combined because we would like it to be a girl most. I didn't like it when the baby chick would chirp all night so I couldn't sleep. When I left the baby chick alone and went downstairs, it would chirp and chirp for me to play with it. Joey was probably upset that I did not play with him because I mostly had to take care of the chick. Amy jumps from wall to wall and I don not like it when she jumps and poops at the same time. I got the baby chick from my teacher, Ms Borum. My baby chick did not hatch so my friends shared it with me and Ms Borum let me take it home because she said I was a special girl. I only had it for the weekend and I don't have it now. It lives at Ms Borum's house. She said Amy is safe at home with her and that I can visit her when I want to. I love my baby chick, Amy! (Or Amylio, if you want to call her a boy name!)

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Happy Birthday Grandma! Even though we tease you by calling you an old lady... we truly think you are neat. In fact, we love you so much that we had to bundle all of our love into a movie. We hope you enjoy our nifty birthday moves made just for you!

From Parker: Happy Birthday Grandma! I love you tons and tons. I love it when you tease me and bring me treats and stuff. You always comfort me when I need it. You’re a pretty good Grandma... for your age! And you’re also pretty good at four square (but, I know that I am better). Love you lots and lots and lots!

From Grace: Hi Grandma, you are the best Grandma! I think you should come and see my monkey with the unibrow and a lot of things too! Please have the best birthday that you can. I love it when you hug me and tell me that you love me. My favorite thing about you is that you are my Grandma. I also love it when you help me. You are good at four square, loving me, being happy, teaching, shopping and giving me clothes. You are a good person in all ways. I love you forever and ever.

From Kate: I like that you laugh at my burps. I wish I could go "boop" on your tummy and hear you laugh. Last time you visited, I cried when you left and I wanted my Mommy to pick you up in the car. I was sad. Now I like to call Amanda, "Nama" cause that's your name and I like to say it. I have fun when you talk on the phone to me. Thanks for listening and for eating my pizza when I feed you through the phone. You always like it! I wub you... burp... Nama!

From Melissa: Happy Birthday, Mom! I am so lucky to have you for a Mother. I know that I like to give you a hard time about the good old days (your lack of clothes, towels on the car seat, the yard stick, de-junking, etc.), but even those silly moments hold a special place in my heart and always will. I don't know what I'd do without you. You have always been there for me and are always the first person to ask how I feel. I love how we have developed more than a parent and daughter relationship because now we are best friends! I love all of the things that we have in common and even don't mind "turning into my mother" because it would be a privilege to be more like you... But, don't expect me to walk outside with my garments showing. You deserve only the choicest of blessings on this very special day. I love you and always will be your sweet Melissa.

From Wing: Mom, the first time I met you I think I saw too much of you! Did you really think the washcloth was going to cover you? It is then I should have known we were gonna be close no matter what! Grin. It certainly showed you were open to having a new son in the family. Thanks for being Mom to me.

Thank You For The Comments, by Grace

Hi my dear fans,

I heard about your comments. I think that all your comments were great and they really impressed me. After all I am a good cook! And, me and Parker talk about getting on peoples goat. A goat is when someone bugs you enough until they just "get your goat." I love you my dear fans!

As requested, here is the recipe for my rice pudding:
  • 1 C rice
  • 3 C condensed milk
  • 1tsp Vanilla... or if you spill some in the bowl, it's OK.
  • Nutmeg... Just sprinkle on as much as you want. Watch my show for a good idea of how much.
  • Cinnamon.. Just sprinkle a whole bunch in the bowl.

Put all of those ingredients in a rice cooker and mix it up good and wait for the rice cooker to say it is done. Mine was about 20 minutes to cook. Test it by tasting it and it is a good idea to have somebody else taste it too, like Kate. Her opinion is always honest. It is also a good idea to look cute when you are making a cooking show. Try and make people laugh by jumping up on a stool or something like that.

I might put another cooking show on my blog soon. Since you are my dear fans, I would like you to vote for a meal that you want me to cook and then I will choose the best one. You can vote for hot chocolate, scrambled eggs, cup cakes or just see me eat them all gone! And then you could post me a comment so I can see what you voted for. You'll probably choose cup cakes or you could vote for just hot chocolate and cup cakes together.

Love ya! Watch my rice pudding cooking show if you want to again:

Hi my dear fans. The show was very fun to make. I hope that all my fans like it too. See if you can sneak a peek at my lost tooth in my video. I think I might make more cooking shows, or not. See for yourself.

From The Las Vegas Marathon, by Grace

Ladies and Gentlemen, I ran in the Las Vegas Kids Marathon yesterday. For the last three months I've been in training and was in lots of other races. I didn't get a trophy this time because I couldn't run past all the other mountains of people, but I have a trophy already from the Steel Days Fun Run. Actually, nobody got a trophy at the Las Vegas Marathon because everyone was a winner. Even the people in the back!

Here's some of the stuff that I won:

  • Some cow lotion (Yuck, I thought it was from the rotten milk utters!)
  • Red Marathon T-Shirt
  • Don't forget my MEDAL
  • A candy bar, don't worry I haven't eaten it yet.
  • Gum and it is gross, but Kate wanted to eat it and she liked it.
  • And some other stuff in a white bag like a poker chip and stuff.

Don't tell anyone, but I was very thirsty and I spilled a drink all over my red shirt. My Dad ran with me and Parker started running with my Mom and Kate because he can't run as fast as me. Poor Parker. Then Parker decided to run with me and we had to make him keep up with us so he wouldn't die. Mom cut across the finish line to take our pictures. Both me a Parker got a medal even though Parker was hiding behind my Dad.

The Marathon was 1.4 miles and I ran the whole way with no resting. My Dad was a very slow poke and had a hard time keeping up with me. Now he is very tired and his muscles are down.

Thank you to all of my fans. Thank you to you and you and you. You've been a wonderful audience.

If you have any questions, here's some more information from Melissa...

It was really cool to be able to run the marathon with Grace. Our whole family ran with her and loved it. It was awesome to see a flood of kids in red shirts running to the finish line followed by their families and friends. It was a huge event that Grace has been working towards for months and we are all very proud of her!

What is KiDSMARATHON? KiDSMARATHON is a 10 week training program (7 weeks for the “Run Three Point One” event) that enables kids to complete a full marathon (42.195 kilometers) by running approximately 5 kilometers per week. By doing so, kids develop the tremendous feeling of accomplishment and confidence without the high risk involved with young kids running a full marathon in one day. The program is completed in grand fashion as each kid is able to finish the final 2.195 kilometers of the marathon distance in front of hundreds of cheering fans, friends and family at the 2007 Las Vegas Marathon on December 1st.

From The First Grade, by Grace

Today at school guess what happened? At recess it was fun. I played with my friends. Their names are Sadie and Kaloni. That's who I played with!

My teacher, Ms. Borum, tells funny jokes to us! My kindergarten teacher was fun too because she told jokes too. But today, Ms. Borum did a trick. She let two boys go to the bathroom. Their names are Braden and Broody. Ms. Borum pretended to be a spy when the whole class came through the door. She then had us hide under the tables. Braden and Broody could not find us. We were hiding under the tables. It was fun for me!

Tomorrow there is a Halloween party. It's gonna be fun! We get to dress up! We are going on a parade with the Kinders. (When I am at recess, I think that the Kinders are teeny.) We get to wear Halloween costumes.

We also get to go on a field trip and have pizza when we get back to school. We earned a pizza party! Yummy pizza from Ms. Borum.

My class has a lot of animals. We have a Tarantula, Iguana, a snake, two turtles and a tadpole that is growing into a frog. We also have fish. We have a tomato frog. That is all the animals we have. Oh, and our Iguana's name is Speedy because it is fast. It can also climb up trees.

I hope you have a very, very, very, very, very HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
